Productive w/ a Purpose

What are the keys to being Productive w/ a Purpose?

đŸ¶ Be a Kid Again – Remember What’s Important & Play to Your Strengths!

Straight up: What was important to you as a kid is the same stuff that should be important to you now. What made you happy and the stuff you loved to do (and the stuff you were really good at) is the same stuff that will make you happy today. I’m talking about family
 friends
 maybe you’re creative
 or love problem solving
or helping a team win. I’m talking about remembering what’s important to you, prioritizing those things above all else and playing to your built in, born with ‘em, you couldn’t change ‘em if you wanted to strengths that make you who you are. Kids are carefree. They live in one ginormous, 24/7, non-stop state of
 in
 the
NOW. And as a result, they experience 100+ #GoodFeels a day! Imagine that. So, remember what’s important and play to your strengths

đŸŒ· Clear the Field – Eat, Sleep & Sweat to Explore a Breathtaking NOW!

This is the bit about being healthy and how important it is and all that lunch. Duh! I say. Of course it is, everybody knows that. But I want to specifically focus on “Eat, Sleep & Sweat” and their collective, weapon-like ability to clear vast, open fields of in the NOW goodness where your mind and body and senses are free to skip and frolic and explore. Once the field has been cleared, the #GoodFeels float freely on every waft of breeze and scent their way up from each lovely flower. Clear the field. Eat, Sleep & Sweat and you will explore a breathtaking “NOW” that’s a mile high and a mile wide and @ any moment
oh, so many #GoodFeels to be had

đŸ’« Spin Straw into Gold – Sketch Distractions into Stunning #GoodFeels!

How can you ever truly be in the NOW if you’re constantly pelted by jerky distractions? Sorry, but to answer this question, I need to start with a rant. Facebook is a “bad distraction” and you should delete it. Seriously. It’s the stupidest, addiction forming, flying distraction monkey ever and it’s a one way ticket to the shittiest part of Oz you can imagine. Delete it and fight your body’s withdrawal like symptoms that beckon you to reinstall it. They will pass and you’ll find yourself (unsurprisingly) 1 million % happier than you are today (end rant).

So (clears throat) other than stupid Facebook, what about the “good distractions” (i.e. the big, small, daunting, exciting! thoughts and ideas) that pop into your head throughout the day? Guess what
 these distractions can be harnessed
they are seemingly brittle strands of straw just waiting to be spun into thick, Rumpelstiltsken-ish bars of gold. The key is having a trusted system in place that gets these good distractions out of your head immediately and into a place where you can play with them later. Once freed from your mind and secured in a holding pen, you can return to the NOW. But what do you do with said thoughts and ideas? Enter Journaling. And guess what folks, Journaling isn’t just for wino moms and brace-faced teenage girls anymore. Journaling is a B.A. problem solving tool that can be used to “sketch” these once distracting thoughts and ideas into golden resolution masterpieces. Any thought that won’t go away
any idea that keeps coming back
 any problem that feels unsolvable
if it keeps coming back, #SketchJournal on it until the answer presents itself. It will. It just takes some patience and a healthy dose of (slightly obsessive) persistence. But once it clicks, it clicks and stunningly profound #GoodFeels are waiting on the other side!
